Scaling national BIM education and standards in Croatia
Without waiting for a government mandate, Croatian architect Vedran Orešić led a grassroots movement to unify BIM education, simplify ISO 19650 and localise standards, with Plannerly as the central hub. More than 1,000 students have trained as BIM coordinators.

About the movement
Faced with fragmented workflows, no national BIM guidance and training that centred on tools, Croatian architect Vedran Orešić led a movement to unify BIM education, simplify ISO 19650 implementation and localise standards using Plannerly. With free templates, a national training programme and digital transformation events, his team helped thousands of people across the country work with practical, structured and scalable BIM.
The challenge

- ISO 19650 seen as too complex and overwhelming for smaller projects

A national education programme
The programme partnered with universities and CDBC. Every student used Plannerly from day one for BEPs, scope and collaboration, and learned how to compare planned and actual deliverables with the Verify module.
