Who it's for Universities and colleges

For universities and colleges

Give students a real project, not a list of acronyms

Plannerly is free for universities and colleges that teach BIM and ISO 19650. Students run a real project - requirements, BEP and MIDP, model checks and handover - with a guest lecture, a 4-5 hour assignment with marking criteria, free courses with certificates and a live Q&A.

Free for official universities and education programmes.

The problem

Why graduates know the acronyms but not the job

Sound familiar?

Students pass the exam, then can't run a project

Students memorise OIR, EIR, BEP and MIDP for the exam. Then their first employer asks who agreed which deliverable, and nobody taught them that part. This free lecture shows how the pieces connect on a real project; the assignment lets them do it.

Case studies

Educators who teach ISO 19650 by doing it

An MSc module that grew from an elective to a core module with every student certified, a national programme in Croatia that trained 1,000+ students without waiting for a mandate, and an architecture graduate who became a BIM coordinator.

How LSBU embedded Plannerly into their construction curriculum

London South Bank University · MSc education

Dr. Zulfikar Adamu integrated Plannerly certification into MSc coursework, achieving 100% student completion in 1-2 days. The module grew from an elective to a mandatory core across two programmes with 70+ students per cohort.

If every university that teaches construction introduces Plannerly, in three to four years you have an army of graduates who know how to implement ISO 19650 properly.

    Scaling national BIM education

    Croatia · National education initiative

Without waiting for a government mandate, built a national BIM education program using Plannerly as the central hub for templates, learning, and live project workflows.

We didn't wait for a mandate. We just started with education, templates, and real projects.

    Ece Mülazımoğlu · Career story

Ece used Plannerly training to build practical confidence in Revit, ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans, and information management workflows, turning an early architecture role into a clearer BIM and digital construction path.

At the end of that certification, I felt like I had some confidence in me to go for this path.

What educators say

Professors and students on learning ISO 19650 by doing it

  • 5 out of 5

Many software companies get this wrong. They don't create content or videos. You can't ask me to bring your tool into my curriculum when there's nothing for students to learn from. Plannerly has all of that.

Surviving ISO 19650 Information Requirements with AI

Build it. Connect it. Just ask Javis. Most owners aren't sure what to ask for, and requirements copied from the last job create work nobody needs. Three ways into your project's information requirements - build on the Plannerly API, connect your own AI with Plannerly MCP, or just ask Javis - on one structure your supply chain can check against.

Questions

Teaching with Plannerly: your questions, answered

Is Plannerly free for universities and colleges?
Yes, for official universities and education programmes. A professor or course leader registers the course, takes a short self-paced course on the basics and has a quick setup call with our team, and students then use Plannerly for their coursework at no cost. Register your course, and how education access works.
Can students sign up by themselves?
Not for free education access: a professor or course leader registers the class. Any student can still open a free Plannerly account to practise, and take the free courses with certificates. Options for students.
What do students actually do?
Four stages on one real project: define the exchange information requirements, develop the BEP and MIDP, verify the models against the requirements, and complete the handover. It takes around 4-5 hours, alone or in teams, and the marking criteria come in Distinction, Merit, Pass and Fail bands. The assignment, stage by stage, and the professor guide.
Can someone from Plannerly talk to my class?
Yes. Show the recorded guest lecture, ISO 19650 Made Practical, in class or as preparation, then book a free one-hour live Q&A with our team for after the lecture, during the assignment or after submission. See the Teaching Hub, and the teaching plan.
Do students get certificates?
Yes. Every free course ends with a certificate, from Level 1 BIM Management Basics to Level 3 ISO 19650 Expert. 16,600+ learners have taken them, rated 4.9 out of 5 from thousands of ratings, and at LSBU every MSc student completed the certification. See the courses, and how certificates and badges work.
Can students upload their own BIM models?
Education accounts include demo projects and example models to check, the same for everyone. Uploading and processing your own models is part of Pro, and a student can start a 14-day Pro trial from a free account for a thesis or final project. Models in education accounts, and compare the plans.
How do I add students to my class?
Create a project, add a team and invite students by email as Manager, Editor or Viewer. A workspace per semester keeps classes apart. Step by step, and the teaching plan for what to set them.
Why teach ISO 19650 with software at all?
Because the standard is about who agrees what and who delivers it, and students only get that by doing it. On a real project they see requirements become a BEP and MIDP, responsibilities agreed and models checked against what was asked for - the workflow employers use. ISO 19650 explained, ISO 19650 on one page and the UK BIM Framework.
