About MTECH
A Hong Kong-based leader in digital construction and asset lifecycle management, MTECH has been innovating since 1995. From early BIM work on the 2008 Beijing Olympics to its current focus on digital twins, AI and infrastructure megaprojects, MTECH keeps pushing the boundaries of what's possible with BIM.
The challenge
As MTECH's projects grew in scope and complexity, disconnected workflows got in the way. Design updates, contract requirements and model data were often misaligned, managed through separate tools and endless spreadsheets. Checking whether models met the project specifications was slow, manual work across teams.
Green procurement and sustainability goals were often brought in too late. ESG thinking needed to be built in from day one, not retrofitted. Quantity surveyors in particular were brought in after major design decisions were made, which limited their say over the material choices that affect emissions, waste and long-term costs.
Plannerly lets us align quality, cost, and carbon goals - without adding more admin. We now open the door for Quantity Surveyors to participate in the project for Green Procurement across the full project life cycle.
