Docs - BIM execution plan software

Simple BIM execution planning: a BEP every team writes, agrees and works to

Plannerly Docs is BIM execution plan (BEP) software for ISO 19650. Start from free BEP templates, give each section to the team that writes it, agree it on the record and send it for e-signature. Write each section yourself or let AI draft a first version, and the BEP stays live after appointment.

Free plan, no card. Everyone you invite joins free.

What changes when the BEP stops being a Word file

  • Under 30 hoursBEP planning time, down from 100+ hoursLIMSEN Consultants, Portugal: 50 companies and 45 BIM models on one project
  • 70%+Less BIM admin time, with reusable templatesSODArchitects, Hungary

How it works

How a BEP gets written, agreed and kept live in Docs

  1. Start from the template

Every BEP starts as a copy of the last one, wrong client name and all. Open an ISO 19650 BEP with the pre- and post-appointment sections in place, or bring in your own from Word.

No blank page, no copy-paste errors
  2. Give every section an owner

One person ends up writing the whole thing. Assign each section to the person who knows it, choose which teams see each document, and keep comments on the section, not in email.

Each section written by the team that knows it
  3. Agree it on the record

Silence isn't agreement. Share each section for review, settle questions in its comments, then publish it, export it to PDF or Word, or send it for e-signature.

A BEP every team actually agreed
  4. Keep it live

The PDF from tender day is out of date within weeks. Version history shows what changed and when, the BEP exports with the scope's grid and timeline, and it becomes your next template.

One plan, still current after appointment

What you get

BIM planning, made simple: everything a BEP needs in one place

Drag and drop templates

Free BEP templates to drag in, and your own

Nobody should write a BEP from a blank page, or from last year's Word file. Drag in ISO 19650 templates for the BEP, EIR, OIR, AIR and more, your company's own standards, or sections from previous BIM projects. SmartFields then fill in the project name, client, version and discipline wherever they appear, so there's no find-and-replace on a new job.

  • ISO 19650 BEP templates, pre- and post-appointment
  • Your company standards as templates
  • SmartFields for every project detail

Real-time collaboration

Every section written and agreed by the team that knows it

When one person writes the whole BEP, nobody else reads it. Assign each section to its owner, choose which teams can see each document, and move sections from In Progress to Shared to Published as they're agreed. Comments sit on the section they're about, and everyone sees updates as they happen, wherever they are.

  • An owner for every section
  • In Progress, Shared and Published, section by section
  • Team-by-team access to each document

Simple approval workflow

Agree it on the record, then sign it

Silence gets taken as agreement, and a marked-up PDF proves nothing. Share a section for review, settle questions in its comments, then publish it. Send the finished document for e-signature, keep every signed copy in the Contracts tab, and use version history to see who changed what, and when.

  • Review, then publish, section by section
  • E-signatures, with every signed copy kept
  • Version history, undo and redo on every section

Print formatted BEP PDFs

A formatted BEP in PDF or Word, without an afternoon of formatting

Formatting a BEP by hand eats the afternoon before every deadline. Export one or several documents to PDF or Word with your own cover page, a hyperlinked index, the project information and a team page, and add the scope's grid and timeline. Set an export to make a new version every week by itself, and email it to the team if you like.

  • Your branding on the cover page
  • The scope's grid and timeline in the same PDF
  • New versions on a schedule, emailed or simply saved
Export a document to PDF or Word

Live charts

Progress charts inside your documents

Copying statuses into a slide every Friday is nobody's job. Add a chart to any document and it shows document, task or requirement status live, filtered by milestone, team or work package, so the BEP and the progress report sit in the same place and update automatically.

Pre-contract (appointment) BEP: what goes in it, and why

Questions

BIM execution plan software: your questions, answered

What is BIM execution plan (BEP) software?
Software for writing, agreeing and maintaining the BIM execution plan: how a delivery team will manage information, who produces what, to which standards and with which tools. In Plannerly Docs the BEP is a shared document rather than a Word file: every section has an owner, every change is recorded, and the agreed plan is exported or signed from the same place. Write the BEP, step by step and 7 things to consider for your BEP.
Is there a free BEP template?
Yes. The free BEP template has every section ISO 19650 expects, pre- and post-appointment, and you can use it in Plannerly on the Free plan. The ISO 19650 templates cover the OIR, AIR and EIR the BEP answers.
What goes into a BEP under ISO 19650?
Before appointment, the BEP sets out how the delivery team proposes to meet the client's exchange information requirements: the information management team, the delivery strategy, the federation strategy, the responsibility matrix and the proposed standards, methods and software. After appointment it's confirmed and kept up to date with the MIDP. The pre-appointment BEP lesson, free, and ISO 19650-2.
Can each team write its own part of the BEP?
Yes, and they should. Assign each section to the person or team that knows it, choose which teams can see each document, and share sections for review when they're ready. Reviewers comment on the section itself, so feedback never gets lost in email. Share document sections and assign who writes them.
Can AI write my BEP?
You can write it yourself from the template, or let AI write the first draft so you start from something rather than nothing. Start with AI drafts an outline or a first version, Write my section answers a requirement you paste in and marks the project facts you need to confirm, and Expand and Correct tidy the wording. You and your teams then check and agree it. Turn the EIR into a BEP with AI and AI Expand.
Can I bring in my existing BEP from Word?
Yes. Copy and paste from Word, or import documents from a template or another project. Then add SmartFields so it fills in each new project's details. The free lesson on importing from Word and importing documents.
How do approvals and e-signatures work?
Each section moves from In Progress to Shared to Published as it's reviewed and agreed. When the document is ready, choose who reviews and signs the export; every signed copy is kept in the Contracts tab. The Free plan includes two e-signatures, and Pro and Company are unlimited. Export, approvals and e-signatures.
Can I export the BEP to PDF or Word?
Yes. Export one or several documents with a cover page, a hyperlinked index, the project information, a team page, and the scope's grid and timeline. PDF export comes with every plan (with Plannerly branding on Free); Word export and your own branding are part of Pro. You can also have a new version made every week by itself. Export to PDF or Word and automate PDF exports.
Does the BEP stay up to date after appointment?
That's the point of keeping it in Plannerly. Version history shows what changed and when, the BEP is exported again whenever it's needed, and sections that came from your company template show when the template improves, so you can take the update or ignore it. Version history and source templates.
Can I embed diagrams, videos or maps in a BEP?
Yes. Paste in images, or embed a live process map, video, survey, slide deck, map or 360 walkthrough from any site that allows embedding. Embedded content stays live in Plannerly, and PDF and Word exports keep its link. Embed a map or other web content and flowcharts and diagrams.
What happened to the Plan module?
It's called Docs now. It's the same place to write the BEP and the other project documents, with AI drafting, SmartFields, live charts and e-signature added since. See everything Plannerly does.
How much does Docs cost?
You can start free and write your BEP on the Free plan. Pro is priced per project, adds unlimited editors so every task team writes its own sections, and includes SmartFields, Word export and unlimited e-signatures. You can try every Pro feature free for 14 days, with no card. See the prices.
