Lesson 26 of 27
API keys
This video shows how to connect a dashboard or script to Plannerly with a named key that expires, instead of sharing a password.
What you'll do
- Open your menu and choose API keys.
- Select New key and name it after what will use it - for example Power BI dashboard.
- Set when it expires, and choose its access. Read-only is plenty for a dashboard.
- Select Create key, copy the token now, then select Done.
Why it matters
Each key reaches only what your role allows on each project, and you can revoke it at any time. A password on a sticky note does neither.
Common questions
Can I see the key again?
No. It is shown once, so copy it before closing the window. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.
Who can use API keys?
Anyone on Pro, the Pro trial or Company. API keys are not available on Free.
