Lesson 11 of 27

Roll out a standard update to projects

This video explains how to change a company standard once, offer it to every project that follows it, and let each team choose when to take it.

What you'll do

  1. Edit the standard in Account Settings, for example the margins on a page setup.
  2. Select Save. It is offered to every project that follows it.
  3. On a project, look for the dot on Export and open Company standard updates.
  4. Check what would change, then choose Use update or Keep current and select Apply.

Why it matters

Change a standard mid-project and you either rework every live document overnight or nobody notices. This way standards change under control, and nothing moves in a live project until its team says so. The standard's row shows how many projects have taken the update and how many are waiting.

Common questions

Who can choose an update on a project?

People who can manage documents in that project.

Does a saved change alter live projects straight away?

No. Projects are offered it and choose when to take it.
