What you'll do

  1. Open Account Settings, then Settings, then Headers and footers and select Add New.
  2. Choose Header, give it a title and tick Account default header.
  3. Type your fixed text, then insert a System SmartField such as Project Title.
  4. Save. Each project fills in its own title.

Why it matters

Retyping the project name and number is slow and risky. A header built once is correct on every project, including ones you have not created yet. Existing projects are offered the new header and take it when their team is ready, so nothing changes under a live job. Where a project has no value for a SmartField, that spot is simply left blank.

Common questions

Who can build the company header?

Account admins, in Account Settings.

What if a project has no value for the SmartField?

That spot is left blank, so nothing odd reaches your reader.
