Lesson 15 of 40
Set your milestones
This video shows you how to add milestones to your Scope and give them dates, so every team plans against one set of deadlines.
What you'll do
- In the milestone header, select the plus (Add Milestone) and type the name straight away.
- Add the next milestone the same way.
- Select the pencil to open Edit Milestones, then Set Dates and pick a Color.
- Check that every row now lines up under the same dated milestones, ready for tasks to be added at each one.
Why it matters
When the next milestone date depends on which email you read, teams drift. Agree the dates once, at the start, and everything else hangs off them: tasks, filters, the timeline and your exports.
Common questions
Who can add milestones?
People whose role lets them manage milestones, usually project managers. Others can see them but not change them.
Can I copy a milestone?
Yes. Duplicate in Edit Milestones copies the milestone with its Scope tasks into a new one.
