Lesson 28 of 40
Turn the model into a scope, already linked
This video shows how to start a scope from what is really in the model, with every task already tied to its model elements.
What you'll do
- Open Import, then Create scope from a model, and pick the model.
- Choose the property that defines each task, such as Type Name, then Review tasks and tick the tasks you want.
- Add any properties you want checked as requirements, such as FireRating, and choose the milestone.
- Select Create scope. Each task arrives linked to its model elements.
Why it matters
The model already knows what is in it. Creating tasks from it saves typing, and the requirements are attached from the start, ready to check.
Common questions
Can I create tasks from an IFC model?
Yes. Choose the property that defines each task, such as Type Name, and Plannerly creates one task for each value you tick.
Why does my requirement say it was only added to the library?
None of the task's elements has a value for that property. Pick a property that is filled in on at least some elements.
